This vibrant economic and educational engine holds the public faith by being a good steward of public funds while at the same time attracting new support from a variety of private entities. It is incumbent upon all of us to understand the trajectory of our public universities and to clearly explain why they are so vital to our global competitiveness in the twenty-first century.
