Die vorliegende Untersuchung interpretiert Jesu Gleichnisse und die Spruchüberlieferung vom Gottesreich im Licht gegenwärtiger Metaphertheorie und zeigt auf, welchen Beitrag die Metaphertheorie bei der Verwendung der Gleichnisse und Aphorismen für die Erforschung des historischen Jesus leisten kann. Die metaphorische Natur und Mehrdeutigkeit der Gleichnisse und Aphorismen der Jesus-tradition untergräbt deren Wert hinsichtlich der Erforschung des historischen Jesus. Der Autor bezweifelt, daß die Gleichnisse und Sprüche der Jesustradition zur Rekonstruktion des historischen Jesus verwendet werden können. Preface 1.
