Detective Chief Inspector Richard Cowell is back on duty only weeks after a disciplinary hearing following the deaths of two of his fellow officers. The not-guilty verdict has left psychological scars. Most of his staff are showing signs of hostility towards him and now even his girlfriends dumped him. The bodies of two young women are discovered as a murderer goes on a killing spree. The first is strangled, the next brutally stabbed. When Cowell discovers a matching signature he realises that he and his new partner are searching for the area's first serial killer. Somehow the local radio station and its presenters are involved in the mystery, but what is that link? What is the motivation? For DCI Cowell this is the lowest point of his life, but can he pull himself together and unravel the strands to track down the killer before it's too late?
