This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of four international workshops held in conjunction with the 8th Asia-Pacific Web Conference, APWeb 2006, in Harbin, China in January 2006 The 88 revised full papers and 58 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from over 300 submissions. The papers of the four workshops are very specific and contribute to enlarging the spectrum of the more general topics treated in the APWeb 2006 main conference. Topics addressed by the workshops are XML Research and Applications (XRA 2006), Sensor Networks (IWSN 2006), Metropolis/Enterprise Grid and Applications (MEGA 2006), Web-based Internet Computing for Science and Engineering (ICSE 2006).
