Description

The four-lingual Illustrated Dictionary for Children, Croatian-English-German-French, is a step forward in multilingual education. The fifth language — the illustrations — is the universal language and under­ stood by all. In the contemporary world of massive migrations and internationalization, multilingual education is be­ coming indispensable for communication. For this purpose, HIŠAK-CSAC (Croatian Schools of America-Australia-Canada-Europe) provides a modest tool to Croatian and all other children. The dictionary underwent eight consecutive revisions before we felt it was ready for printing. As the proverb says, the simplest things are the most difficult to do. Under the guidance of the authors a team for teachers, illustrators, and computer programmers were involved. The two exercise sections in the Croatian language can serve as a model for similar exercises in other languages.
