Description

Mirratul Asrar, literally translated as ‘Mirror of Secrets’, presents the account of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w.), members of his family (r.a.), his companions, and Muslim saints (Auliya Allah) from the time of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w.) until the time of the author, Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Rahman Chishti (r.a.) who passed away in 1065 A.H. In addition to being a hagiography, the book also provides detailed descriptions of Islamic spirituality upheld by the Sufis and Muslims in general. The original text (as well as the Urdu translation) divided these sacred personalities into 23 groupings. In this second edition of the English translation, we have combined the two volumes into one. Corrections and changes have been made to render the translation to follow closely the Urdu version and to make the presentation more accurate. This English translation is the effort by Tehzeeb un Nisa Begum ably supported by various Silsila members. It is rendered from the Urdu version, which was translated from the original Farsi (Persian) by their spiritual guide (murshid), Hazrat Maulana Wahid Bakhsh Sial Rabbani Chishti Sabri (r.a.). In these times when Islam is misunderstood by both Muslims and non-Muslims, it is hoped that the English translation will enlighten the readers about the magnificent life of Islamic spirituality and gnosis that ensues from sincerely embracing the true Islamic way of life in the tradition of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w.), the Sahaba (r.a.) and the Auliya Allah (r.a.).
