The new propellant exhibits improved ballistic and safety properties compared to those of conventional double-base propellants such as M-26 & JA- 2. This propellant is the second in the CLP's family after CLP-26 for APFSDS-T 105 mm gun that was presented at the 2004 IM symposium at San Francisco.
