Leisure for Canadians
Book information
Description
The second edition of Leisure for Canadians builds on the work started in the first effort published in 2007. This second edition introduces a new theme within the larger leisure literature, that of sport and events management. Seven new chapters focusing on various aspects of sport and event planning have been added, along with a chapter on the built environment and leisure behavior. As was the case in the first edition, this text is comprised of chapters written by scholars from across Canada. All the contributors were asked to imagine they were talking with someone who asked, “What do we know about [your topic]?” The individual and collective goal was to bring the reader up to date on what is known on that topic. This text is appropriate for new students to leisure hoping to grasp key issues as well as more advanced students seeking to explore leisure’s complex role in our society. The contributors have worked hard to bring the most current thinking on a wide variety of topics. Together, they paint a picture of both the challenges and opportunities that leisure presents. Professional Linux kernel architecture ''Wrox programmer to programmer''--Cover. - ''What you are reading right now is the result of an evolution over more than seven years: After two years of writing, the first edition was published in German by Carl Hanser Verlag in 2003. It then described kernel 2.6.0. The test was used as a basis for the low-level design documentation for the EAL4+ security evaluation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, requiring to update it to kernel 2.6.18 (if the EAL acronym does not mean anything to you, then Wikipedia is once more your friend). Hewlett-Packard sponsored the translation into English and has, thankfully, granted the rights to publish the result. Updates to kernel 2.6.24 were then performed specifically for this book''--P. ix
