Description
A pro-German work critical of the British oligarchy. Wirsing's work was originally published in Germany - in both German and English editions - in 1940 and reprinted a year later by George Sylvester Viereck's Nazi propaganda imprint, Flanders Hall, which was based in NJ. The author based much of his analysis on Simon Haxey's 1939 book, England's Money Lords, and includes Haxey's detailed charts of the British aristocracy, politicians, and financial figures, including a fold-out one of "The â Cousinhood' in the House of Commons." The book's anti-Semitism is more subtle, with veiled references to "alien elements" influencing the oligarchy. Wirsing was a member of the Nazi Party and authored many books of German propaganda before and during the war.
