Studies of the nude body have been around for many years, but rarely has scholarship looked at the clothed body. Yet the way we clothe ourselves says a great deal about the society we live in and our place within it. The papers in this volume provide fascinating snapshots of the clothed body in the ancient world. Once collected together, these snapshots reveal common themes in scholarship and allow a comparison of methodologies across disciplines and periods.
