VOLUME 5: DVA-FOL ======== The Oxford English Dictionary is the principal historical dictionary of the English language, published by Oxford University Press. It traces the historical development of the English language, providing a comprehensive resource to scholars and academic researchers, as well as describing usage in its many variations throughout the world. The first edition of twelve original volumes were released during the period 1884-1928; four volumes of supplements were released in 1987. The second edition of twenty volumes were released in 1989. The revisions and updates for a third edition began in 1994 and is anticipated to be completed by approximately 2034 and would be an estimated forty volumes and over forty-two thousand pages if released in traditional print form.
