El surgimiento de la filosofía analítica Frege, Moore, Russell y Wittgenstein

En Español más abajo. )------------------ This volume collects the lectures given by distinguished philosopher of language and historian of analytic philosophy Scott Soames, during the months of June and July of 2015 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru PUCP in the seminary "The Rise of Analytic Philosophy". Here, Soames examines the origins of the analytic tradition in philosophy (1879 - 1922) in the work of its four main founders: Gottlob Frege, G.E. Moore, Bertrand Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Soames explains and analyses their main contributions to logic, philosophy of mathematics, epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of language, and ethics. The main topics discussed include the critic and subsequent abandon of absolute idealism, the fundamental role assigned to so called common sense in the development of an anti-skeptic epistemology, the project of formulating an autonomous theory of ethics without metaphysical commitments, the quick development of contemporary symbolic logic and its innovative application to the philosophy of mathematics and the philosophy of language, and finally, the adoption of techniques if logic as a general philosophic methodology and its role in the consolidation of a innovative conception of philosophy itself. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Este volumen recoge las lecciones impartidas por el destacado filósofo del lenguaje e historiador de la filosofía analítica, Scott Soames, durante los meses de junio y julio de 2015 en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú como parte del seminario El surgimiento de la filosofía analítica. En él, Soames examina los orígenes de la tradición filosófica analítica (1879 -1922) en la obra de sus cuatro grandes fundadores: Gottlob Frege, G. E. Moore, Bertrand Russell y Ludwig Wittgenstein. Soames explica y analiza sus principales aportes a la lógica, la filosofía de las matemáticas, la epistemología, la metafísica, la filosofía del lenguaje y la ética. Los temas fundamentales que discute incluyen la crítica y subsecuente abandono del idealismo absoluto, el rol fundamental asignado al llamado sentido común en el desarrollo de una epistemología anti-escéptica, el proyecto de formular una teoría ética autónoma sin compromisos metafísicos, el desarrollo vertiginoso de la lógica simbólica contemporánea y su aplicación innovadora en la filosofía de las matemáticas y la filosofía del lenguaje y, por último, la adopción de las técnicas lógicas como metodología filosófica general y su rol en la consolidación de una concepción novedosa de la filosofía misma. 0.
