Description
The first essay "On the Nature of the Animus" was read at the Psychological Club of Zürich in November 1931 and was first published, in a slightly expanded form, in Wirklichkeit der Seele (Zürich: Rascher Verlag, 1934). The version read to the Club was translated into English by Mrs. Baynes and appeared in Spring 1941. The present version has been revised to correspond more closely with the published German version. It is printed by permission of Rascher Verlag.The second essay"The Anima as an Elemental Being" in German was entitled "Die Anima als Naturwesen" and appeared in Studien zur analytischen Psychologie C.G. Jungs (Zürich: Rascher Verlag, 1955), vol, 2.
