The New Testament writings play an important role in Schleiermacher’s understanding of Christianity. So far, scholars have not had access to his lectures on this topic. On the basis of previously unpublished lecture texts, e.g., on the Epistle to the Philippians, the interdisciplinary articles in this volume discuss how a future edition of all of Schleiermacher’s exegetic lectures could complete and change the overall picture we have of him.
