Coverage encompasses the most commonly used thermometers, including liquid-in-glass thermometers, platinum resistance thermometers, thermocouples, and radiation thermometers. Other topics covered include measurement and traceability, uncertainty in measurement, the ITS-90 temperature scale, use of thermometers, and calibration. This second edition reflects the latest advances in industrial and laboratory thermometry, and includes an updated chapter on calibration, reflecting changes brought about by the release of the ISO 17025 standard for laboratory accreditation. The author is affiliated with the Measurement Standards Laboratory of New Zealand.
