Dialogues Between East Asia and Occident: Studies in Aesthetics, Culture and Phenomenology

In here there are four studies whereas each study has at least two different philosophical layers. While on one side they focus on the subject matters that fit the context of their own titles from history of philosophy, on other side they try to problematize and reconstruct an aspect of phenomenology as it is understood in 21st century. This manner of doubling investigation makes these studies somewhat useful to see how phenomenology as a way of thinking operates by testing its limits and horizons. All the while, in these four studies, as different problems from different fields of philosophy are examined, these studies also work in a manner which might be of interest for the researchers from comparative and fusion philosophy. Therefore, it can be said that, through these studies, the third layer surfaces. As the main aim of them was to see whether “painting the bigger picture” regarding the context of the problematics here in a more phenomenological way is possible or not, these also try to build a bridge between phenomenology and comparative or fusion philosophy, even though that bridge sometimes seems unbuildable
