Book information
Description
John Marsh, former Principal of Mansfield College, Oxford, is a Congregationalist theologian with wide experience as a reiigious adviser for television. In this commentary he attempts to interpret the manifold problems of the Fourth Gospel to the modern reader. In examining John's conception of 'history', he takes a new look at both the similarities and the notable differences between this record and that Of the synoptic gospels. Professor Marsh endeavours to locate John's central purpose, which was to enshrine, for a wide circle of readers, the living Word of God.
